About the Role

This is an exciting time for our crisis homelessness services, as the Homeless Gateway Service works with SYC/HYPA as the providers of the Youth Gateway to re-design the connection point to homelessness services for all South Australians. This service, as of 1 October, will be named Homeless Connect.


This is an exciting opportunity for you to be a part of a re-design process, analysing the current service delivery and working with a wide diversity of stakeholders to develop the best possible new service. This role is responsible for:

  • Direct line management and supervision of the frontline staff
  • Ensuring the highest quality of client service is provided
  • Working closely with the team, Senior Manager and SYC/HYPA to co-create the service
  • Working closely with stakeholders across the homelessness sector to ensure the service best meets the needs of all South Australians seeking a homelessness service.

Please note, the role will usually report to the Service Manager, however due to a pending maternity leave, this role will report directly to the Senior Manager for approximately 10 months. 


About You

You will have demonstrated experience in:

  • high quality service delivery
  • assessment for highly vulnerable clients, including suicide and risk assessment
  • leading a team.

It is desirable that you have experience in the South Australian homelessness sector.
