Position Summary

An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate and flexible Community Nurse, to join the Streetlink Youth Health Service. This is a permanent full-time position offering 38 hours per week.

Streetlink is a free and confidential youth health service that provides a safe place for young people aged 12 to 25, who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, to seek information and support, connection to services, or just chat with someone who cares. Our medical clinic, and drug and alcohol counselling service work in a collaborative and holistic manner to support young people across metropolitan Adelaide. Our Streetlink medical service is in a time of reinvigoration, and thus we are seeking a Community Nurse with the willingness to engage in supported remodelling of the service, ensuring it best meets the needs of community. 

 

The Role - you will provide:

  • Comprehensive clinical nursing services including support for AOD and mental health issues, immunisations, ante and post-natal care, child and adolescent health issues, sexual health and contraception, health screening and health education
  • Referrals to other health programs, counselling and advocacy services
  • Accurate and ongoing client medical records utilising Medical Director and other software

About You - you will have:

  • Qualifications and training as a Registered Nurse (Level 2) / Community Nurse
  • Professional experience in the delivery of community nursing services
  • Experience working with young adults, adolescents and children
  • Experience responding to mental health, sexual health and substance use
  • Experience providing ante and post-natal care
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and an ability to engage with a broad range of people
  • Strong ability to build strong and effective working relationships
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft office

Midwifery, paediatric and/or mental health qualifications will be highly regarded.
