Position Summary

Uniting Communities is seeking a Part-time Counsellor/Case Manager to join our New ROADS team in Whyalla for a permanent contract. This is a 0.5FTE position, offering 19 hours per week.  


New ROADS is a growing, dynamic and supportive team of professionals providing holistic and innovative drug and alcohol and comorbidity services. We provide 1:1 counselling, group work, police drug diversion, case management and residential rehabilitation across our service, with a focus on residential rehabilitation in Whyalla. We are seeking experienced and motivated staff who are keen to join the team and provide the highest standard of client support.

About The Role

The New ROADS Counsellor Case Manager role incorporates a diverse mix of responsibilities including:

  • office and outreach based, therapeutic AOD services for our residential client group, outpatient counselling group and police drug diversion services
  • supporting people who are accessing our AOD programs to make long term, healthy changes in their lives
  • developing partnerships with the community to create better outcomes for clients and drive referrals into the service
  • breaking down the stigma associated with AOD and mental health issues

About You

You will possess a minimum of Cert IV in AOD or equivalent education, or a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or other related field.  You will have demonstrated professional experience in providing intensive support, counselling and case management.  You will have experience in providing a multidisciplinary and integrated approach, including working with internal staff and external stakeholders from other agencies.  Additionally, you will have a strong ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a diverse range of clients, community groups and agencies.


About the Remuneration

This role is renumerated at the Uniting Communities General Staff Agreement, Professional Level 4/1 - 4/4.
